About me

I like to keep introductions short (my name is already long enough!).

I’m Valentina and I try to live my life to the fullest. When I immerse myself in an experience, I then want to share it with others. That’s who I am.

I love traveling, taking photos and writing. Without any pause and without limitations. I believe that any day is the perfect day for painting the canvas of my life. One brush stroke after the other, I make my own destiny.

What do I do?

I’m a Journalist, a social media Manager and a Blogger.

I have always loved writing and just before I turned 18, in 2006, I made my online debut with a diary on MySpace. I then decided to move on and start my own blog, something that would be entirely mine. In 2010, my very first blog was born. It was called Giornalista Coccinella (Ladybug Journalist), a nickname that had a personal meaning long before I started sharing my stories online. Both my first fan page (2010) and YouTube channel (2013) used that same name.

Nowadays, my blog bears my name and is a true reflection of all my greatest passions.

What I write about ?

la mia storia

On this blog, I share my own experiences as I travel the world. I hope that my words will transport the readers to the places I visit and, above all, inspire them.

In addition to writing about travel, I like to write about web marketing and about my work as a blogger.

I am also a regular speaker at industry events, like the IT.A.CÀ Rovigo – Festival del Turismo Responsabile, where I gave the speech “Travel bloggers and sustainability: when work meets passion”.

My blogging experience

la mia storia

This blog’s case history can be found under ‘Collaborations’. Looking back, I can recount how I developed this travel bug, it was during a blog tour in Malaga (Spain). That’s when I knew this is what I wanted to pursue.

Education and studies

After I graduated from university with an Arts & Humanities Degree, I became a journalist. My education, however, didn’t end there. I attended several marketing courses and then completed a Master’s degree in journalism and communication.

Here’s a report by a well-known blogger comparison network (updated June 2018):

For me, engagement and the satisfaction of those who read this blog are more important than numbers. That’s why I collected some of my readers’ comments on a dedicated page.

la mia storia

I was still in high school and during recess, I would take my diary out and write stories. At the age of 17, I started writing for local newspapers. It was during this period that I understood my passion for writing wasn’t just a fad, it was something worth pursuing.

In 2007, I graduated from high school. Even though I was dealing with self-doubt and indecisiveness, like any other teenager, I was sure of one thing: writing made me feel free. That was when the idea of my book was born.

After I graduated from university in 2012, I became a journalist. My education, however, didn’t end there. I completed several marketing and communication courses, along with a Master’s Degree.

2012 BIS

In 2012, I started working in local government for the communications department of the Italian region of Puglia. This experience was incredibly rewarding because I had the opportunity to learn a lot and vastly improve my skills.

In 2014, I left Puglia and moved to Northern Italy. My new home, the Italian region of Veneto, exceeded all expectations job-wise and I found here many opportunities to grow professionally.

I opened my blog in 2015, combining two of my greatest passions: traveling and storytelling. Ever since that day, I’ve never stopped sharing my experiences online.

In 2016 I self-published my first book on Amazon, fulfilling one of my lifelong dreams: “Perché le lacrime ti insegnano a sorridere”.

2016 BIS

Still in 2016, I quit my 9-5 job and I started my consultancy business. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work on many projects. I focused on digital marketing, as well as hotel and travel marketing.

2017 started in the best way, with a trip to Africa that was followed by a long exploration of Asia. Now the blog has a new name and a new look, along with a new sense of purpose and direction. Today I am the happiest person in the world because the world itself makes me happy!
