There are places with a special energy. It doesn’t matter whether they are on the other side of the world or close to home, the most important thing is how you’ll feel crossing the threshold of the unknown. And that’s what happened to me when I arrived at the B&B Verde Cielo, in Tribano.
For my trip to Colli Euganei, I was looking for a B&B that was conveniently located and easy to get to. More importantly, I wanted the B&B to be nice and comfortable, somewhere I enjoyed staying at, not an accommodation with the bare minimum.
I wanted to feel at home and I tried to document my experience through a video, which I shot with the compact Panasonic cameras I always carry with me.
A B&B NEAR COLLI EUGANEI
B&B Verde Cielo is located in Tribano, a small town near Padua and just a few kilometers from Colli Euganei.
Monselice, one of the towns I talk about in my article, is only 5-7 km from the B&B Verde Cielo. Equally close are the towns of Conselve and Este, two wonderful stops to add to your itinerary. In addition, the B&B is only 7 minutes away from the Madre Teresa di Calcutta hospital in Este/Schiavonia.
A HOME MORE THAN A B&B
As you enter the B&B you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere made of flowers, beautiful scents and above all, serenity.
Silvia, the owner, is a wonderful host, always attentive to the guests’ need and can prepare amazing breakfasts with homemade delicacies and organic produce. From the homemade jams and flavored salt to the wide variety of scented soap bars, the breakfast room is nothing short of impressive.
The jams, in particular, are made with fruits Silvia picked in her garden and she’s thinking to organize workshops for her guests, so they can learn how to make these jams and bring a jar home.
When your stay becomes an experience, I’m sure It’ll be remembered fondly.
I usually tend to write a bit more about food than I’ve sone so far, so here are some additional details on this.
During my stay, I woke up to the aroma of fresh bread wafting through the B&B, accompanied by that of homemade pie and croissants.
If you’re like me at all, this is one of the things you look forward to the most when traveling. I have to say I’m a bit disappointed when I don’t get to experience it, even if I’m staying at a luxury hotel. Sweet and savory treats, coffee and cappuccinos, fresh fruit and yogurt, fruit juices and homemade jams: what a way to start the day! This breakfast spread was greatly appreciated by me and considering how many reviews mention it, by many other guests too.
NO TV – TAKE YOUR TIME
This is one of the things that impressed me the most. There are no TVs in the bedrooms and this is on purpose. Silvia and Lorenzo, the owners, had a vision of their B&B as a cozy space where to relax in complete peace, read a book with a cup of tea, chat with other guests or simply take in the calming sounds of nature.
There are two guest rooms: the Green Room (Camera Verde) which was inspired by the Creation and its wonderful creatures, the earth and the fruits it produces and the Cielo Room (Camera Cielo), designed with the intention of reminding you to aim high and never lose hope.
There’s also one bathroom, which is spacious and clean. The B&B offers its guests a wide range of toiletries and towels matching colors the decor.
The two rooms, which together can accommodate up to 6 people, have been designed and built following the best practices in sustainability. There are photovoltaic panels that heat water by solar energy and provide electricity to the building, as well as toiletries that are 100% biodegradable.
